Thanks for the comment Joel. I agree that it really depends on the copyrighted content you’re going to feature in your service or program. It’s great that churches have two streaming blanket licenses available. Church Christmas productions often include copyrighted secular holiday songs, like “White Christmas” and “Little Drummer Boy” that are not included in the CCLI streaming license, but are covered in the WORSHIPcast License. It’s definitely worth careful consideration and review of the copyrighted songs you want to feature in your programs and services and which license provides the best coverage for your needs.

Thanks Joel for the mention, and I agree with your recommendation about needing additional licensing dependent on the content you want to use. For song performance streaming licenses, there are two options: 1) The CCLI church streaming license (additional to the basic CCLI license) and 2) the WORSHIPcast license from CCS. The CCLI streaming license covers about 200,000 Christian songs and pricing is based on the size of your congregation. The WORSHIPcast license from CopyrightSolver covers 16 million songs from ASCAP, BMI and SESAC and costs $500 for churches under 500 congregation and $925 for church 500+ for the annual license. Additional licensing may be required for inclusion of videos, images, lyrics and other copyrighted material.
